At least 1,037 people have been killed and hundreds injured following a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Morocco. Many of the fatalities are in hard-to-reach areas south of Marrakech.

Fuel tanker explosion in Nigeria kills dozens
A fuel tanker collided head-on with another truck in Nigeria on Sunday causing an explosion that killed at least 48 people. Abdullahi Baba-Arab, director-general of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency said that the fuel tanker was also carrying cattle in the Agaie area in north-central Niger state and at least 50 of them were burned alive.
