A Baroque landscape paintings lost during World War II were returned to Germany on Thursday, October 20 2023. The artwork by 18th century Austrian artist Johann Franz Nepomuk Lauterer was hand over to a German museum.

The death toll from two massive earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria climbed above 29,000, as rescuers continued to dig through rubble for survivors and victims. The number of deaths in Turkey rose to 24,617 on Sunday while more than 4,500 were killed in Syria.

Kazakhstan’s Parliamentary Election will be held on March 19
Kazakhstan will elect members of the Mazhilis, the lower house of Parliament, and maslikhats, local representative bodies on March 19. New names will surely appear in the legislative branch, while up to 50 percent of the country’s local representative offices are expected to have new members. Thirty-nine percent of the self-nominated candidates are women and young people. The vote will be held according to the new rules adopted following last year’s constitutional amendments.

Crimea bridge closed after a drone attacked an ammunition depot
A drone attack on an ammunition depot in Crimea has led to civilian evacuations and disrupted transport. Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian installed governor of occupied Crimea said, Ukraine was behind the attack, without providing evidence. Mr Aksyonov said local residents living within five kilometres of the blast were being evacuated.
