A Baroque landscape paintings lost during World War II were returned to Germany on Thursday, October 20 2023. The artwork by 18th century Austrian artist Johann Franz Nepomuk Lauterer was hand over to a German museum.

Belarusian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Byalyatski has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on smuggling and tax-evasion charges that rights defenders and Western governments have called politically motivated retribution by longtime authoritarian ruler Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The Lenin district court on March 3 also sentenced Byalyatski’s co-defendants in the case Valyantsin Stefanovich and Uladzimer Labkovich to nine years and seven years, respectively. Suicide bombing in southwestern Pakistan kills at least 9 police officers
At least nine police officers were killed and 11 others injured in a suspected suicide blast in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province on Monday. Authorities said the latest in a string of recent attacks against security personnel in the South Asian nation. Kachhi Police senior superintendent Mehmood Notezai said a vehicle carrying policemen was targeted in the province’s Sibi district. Preliminary evidence suggests it was a suicide attack.

Tajikistan President’s Butchery Prevails In GBAO
Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon recently was in New York to speak with the UN Secretary General and King of the Netherlands. Meanwhile the Tajik opposition members opposed and urged Western politicians not to meet with him who holds hundreds of political prisoners in the country, shoots peaceful demonstrators, and robs citizens. This led to Asliddn Szerzamonow to protest at the British embassy. Asliddin brought a poster to the embassy saying that Rahmon is a dictator and a letter, penned by several opposition activists, addressed to the British representatives. He reminded them of the crimes that President Rahmon and his regime had and continues to commit in the Gorno-Badakhshan (GBAO) region where the inhabitants of region of Tajikistan were slaughtered by Tajik security forces for their beliefs.
