Kenes Rakishev, Oxus Acquisiton to merge with Borealis Foods
Kazakh entrepreneur and philanthropist Kenes Rakishev’s acquired company, Oxus Acquisition Corp. and Borealis Foods Inc. announced the signing of a definitive business combination agreement in February this year. This alliance is expected to result in a newly combined company under the name Borealis Foods Inc. Upon the signing, the company will continue to be led by Borealis’ CEO and co-founder Reza Soltanzadeh, and chairman and co-Founder Barthelemy Helg. The boards of directors of Borealis and Oxus have each unanimously approved the proposed $150 million transaction.

At least 25 people died as heavy rains hit Pakistan
Heavy rains pounded Pakistan’s northwest regions collapsing houses and killing at least 25 people. Senior rescue officer Khateer Ahmed said rains and hail hit the Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Karak districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. Another 145 people were injured as uprooted trees knocked down electrical transmission towers.

Ukrainian missiles strike Russian warships in Crimean naval base
Two Russian warships were damaged after Ukraine launched an extensive assault on a Russian ship repair base in Crimea early Wednesday morning. It appears to be Kyiv’s most ambitious strike on the port since the war began.
