Ed Sheeran’s new album was inspired by his “unbreakable bond” with his wife Cherry. The 32-year-old pop star has been married to childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn, 30, 2019 but she was diagnosed with a tumour while she was pregnant with their second child, Jupiter, and explained whilst launching his new album ‘Subtract’.

On June 11th 2000, Aaliyah went to No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Try Again’. It became the first “airplay-only” song to reach No.1 on the US singles chart (no points from a commercial single release). It was written by Static Major and Timbaland, and produced by the latter. The song features an intro in which Timbaland pays homage to Eric B. & Rakim by rapping the duo’s opening verse from “I Know You Got Soul“. “Try Again” was released as the lead single from Romeo Must Die on March 21, 2000, by Blackground Records and Virgin Records. It was later included as a bonus track on international editions of Aaliyah’s eponymous third and final studio album (2001).

Thor and Star Wars actor, Ray Stevenson dies aged 58
The actor Ray Stevenson, who appeared in major TV shows such as Rome, Vikings and Dexter, has died aged 58. He was known for roles in the Thor films and the Divergent series, as well as several UK TV shows like Band of Gold, Peak Practice and Murphy’s Law. No cause of death has been revealed but he was reportedly hospitalised during filming on the Italian island Ischia. At the time of his death, he was working on an action movie, Cassino in Ischia. His death was announced four days before his 59th birthday.

On May 2 1964, The Rolling Stones self-titled debut album started a 12-week run at No.1 on the UK charts. The album spent a total of 51 weeks on the UK chart. Also on his day The Stones made their first appearance on the US singles chart when ‘Not Fade Away’ entered the chart at No.98.
