Heavy rains in Brazil this weekend killed at least 23 people in the southeastern states of Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo.
Indonesia election commission confirms Prabowo Subianto as new president
General Elections Commission Chair Hasyim Asyari announced that Defence Minister Prabowo and his vice presidential running mate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, won a majority of votes on February 14, winning 59 percent, or more than 96 million votes. Anies Baswedan secured nearly 41 million votes, or 25 percent of the total count, while Ganjar Pranowo received 27 million votes, more than 16 percent.

Gas blast in Kenyan capital kills two and injures hundreds
A huge gas blast in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, has killed at least two people and injured at least 222. A government spokesperson said that lorry carrying gas exploded in Embakasi district around 23:30 (20:30 GMT), igniting a huge ball of fire.

In 1963 he was recruited to join The Animals alongside Chas Chandler, Alan Price and John Steel. He went on to play on classics like ‘Baby Let Me Take You Home’, ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’, ‘We Gotta Get Out of This Place’, ‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’, and on the band’s landmark, trans-Atlantic number one cover of the traditional folk song ‘The House of the Rising Sun’.
World-first IVF rhino pregnancy could save species from extinction
A rhinoceros was impregnated through embryo transfer in the first successful use of a method that conservationists said might later make it possible to save the nearly extinct northern white rhino subspecies.
