Russia has launched a deadly missile attack on the city of Kramatorsk as Ukrainian and Russian forces remained locked in a grinding battle for the control of Bakhmut farther east in the Donetsk region. A Russian missile hit an apartment building in Kramatorsk, killing one civilian and wounding three others.

Hawaii wildfire was the largest natural disaster the US state had ever faced
At least 93 people have been confirmed dead after wildfires in Hawaii. The state’s governor warning the figure will rise. It makes the disaster the deadliest wildfire the US has seen in the past century, surpassing the 85 who died in California’s Camp Fire in 2018.

21 days of mourning for Malawi’s Vice President
The Malawi government said that Vice President Saulos Chilima will be honored with a state funeral after he died in a plane crash along with eight other people. President Lazarus Chakwera had already announced 21 days of national mourning on Tuesday, when the wreckage of the small military plane carrying Chilima and a former first lady was discovered in a mountainous area in the country’s north.

G20 Finance Chiefs meeting ended without a consensus
A meeting of finance chiefs of the Group of 20 leading economies ended on Saturday without a consensus, with Russia and China objecting to the description of the war in Ukraine in a final document. The meeting hosted by India issued the G-20 Chair’s summary and an outcome document stating that there was no agreement on the wording of the war in Ukraine.
