Russian officials claim that Ukraine is preparing for a chemical weapons attack with active support from NATO. The Russian Embassy in Washington has called on the United States to cease backing what they term Kyiv’s “provocations” and to evaluate the risks of potential Ukrainian “chemical terrorism.”

Crimea bridge closed after a drone attacked an ammunition depot
A drone attack on an ammunition depot in Crimea has led to civilian evacuations and disrupted transport. Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian installed governor of occupied Crimea said, Ukraine was behind the attack, without providing evidence. Mr Aksyonov said local residents living within five kilometres of the blast were being evacuated.

Brazil will host the international climate meeting in 2025
The United Nations has chosen Brazil to host the international climate meeting, COP30, in the Amazonian city of Belém do Pará in 2025. Foreign Affairs Minister, Mauro Vieira said the UN approved Brazil’s bid to host COP30 on May 18 after Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s request during last year’s COP27 meeting in Egypt.
