On October 26 2007, 1,730 guitarists played the immortal Bob Dylan classic, ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’ in a bid to break a record in the state of Meghalaya, North East India. The guitarists hoped their achievement would earn them a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On July 18th 1982, Willie Nelson was at No.1 on the country album chart with Always on My Mind, which became the Billboard No.1 country album of the year. The album spent 22 weeks at the top of the charts and stayed for a total of 253 weeks on the Billboard Country charts. The track ‘Always on My Mind’ was originally recorded by B.J. Thomas in 1970, and has since been recorded by dozens of performers including Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, John Wesley Ryles and Pet Shop Boys.

On June 11th 2000, Aaliyah went to No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Try Again’. It became the first “airplay-only” song to reach No.1 on the US singles chart (no points from a commercial single release). It was written by Static Major and Timbaland, and produced by the latter. The song features an intro in which Timbaland pays homage to Eric B. & Rakim by rapping the duo’s opening verse from “I Know You Got Soul“. “Try Again” was released as the lead single from Romeo Must Die on March 21, 2000, by Blackground Records and Virgin Records. It was later included as a bonus track on international editions of Aaliyah’s eponymous third and final studio album (2001).
