In June 1st 1977, Bob Marley and The Wailers played the first of four nights at the Rainbow Theatre in London. There were six nights booked at the Rainbow, but the last two shows were cancelled due to a serious toe injury Marley received, (in a friendly football game with French journalists just before the tour’s start in Paris). Subsequently the tour’s second leg in the United States was postponed and then cancelled.

Miley Cyrus’s Flowers is now officially the longest-running Number 1 single by a female solo artist this decade so far, as it rules the roost of the Official Singles Chart for a 10th consecutive week. Miley overtakes Olivia Rodrigo’s nine-week Number 1 stint with 2021’s drivers license.

February 11th 2014, Queen made UK chart history by becoming the first act to sell six million copies of an individual album. Their first Greatest Hits collection, which includes the hits ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘ had extended its lead after being Britain’s highest-selling album for several years. The Official Charts Company said one in three British families now owned a copy of the 1981 compilation.

Aerosmith will retire after farewell tour
Aerosmith is heading into retirement with a farewell tour. The group announced that they will have a 40-date North American tour, featuring special guests The Black Crowes. They also shared that drummer Joey Kramer will not be joining them. The new tour will be produced by Live Nation and will kick off in Philadelphia on September 2.
