48 participants took part in the first national workshop on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) competency standards development- organized as part of a UNESCO project funded by the European Union from 4 to 7 July 2023. The national workshop aimed at developing national standards for ICT competencies of teachers, implement policy in the field of digitalization of the education sector and introduce the use of ICT in educational processes.

Floods and deadly landslides hit Southeast China
Thousands of people have been evacuated in southeast China after heavy rains hammered the region over the weekend, triggering floods and deadly landslides. According to state-run broadcaster CCTV, over 35,000 people were evacuated as of Saturday. As of Monday morning, more than 10,000 people were evacuated in Meizhou, the hardest flood-hit city in Guangdong province. Civilians killed in Russian shelling of Eastern Ukraine
Ukrainian officials say about two dozen civilians were killed and wounded as Russia continued its shelling of civilian-populated areas in the east and south of the country. At least three civilians were killed and eight wounded in Russian shelling of Kostyantynivka, a city in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. Presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak said 16 apartment buildings, eight private houses, a kindergarten, and an administrative building had been damaged in the attacks.
